Geared NZ Limited respects that your personal data is private. All relationships are based on trust and so we make a commitment to you to handle your data sensitively, securely and with proper regard for privacy. We will not release your personal information to persons or entities without your explicit consent. Exceptions to this are:

• If we are required by law to disclose certain information
• If you order a product from us that is to be delivered by an external company.

We will limit the collection and use of customer information to the minimum we require to deliver superior service to our customers, which includes advising our customers about our products, services and other opportunities, and to administrate our business. We store your name, postal, physical and email addresses, telephone number/s, and order processing information of our customers.

You may provide us with your email address. We will only ever use your email address so that we can (a) contact you about your order or answer a query, or (b) send you special offers from time to time. If you wish not to receive emails you may unsubscribe from the option on any email sent or by contacting us. Your email address is private and we will never sell it to third parties.

We will take all reasonable steps to ensure that all information we collect, use or disclose is accurate, complete, up-to-date and stored in a secure environment accessed only by authorised persons.

When you purchase goods from our website via credit card, your payment is processed offline. We receive your credit card details via a secure encrypted pdf, and store them until the payment has been processed online via our secure merchant banking facility with The National Bank of New Zealand, usually within 12 hours. After your payment transaction has been approved, the encrypted pdf is deleted.

We make use of 'cookies' to make our website perform better. A 'cookie' is a feature built into your browser that assigns you a 'user ID'. Cookies are used to follow the pattern of movements of web users. Cookies let us know which pages on our website are visited, in what order and how often. By themselves, cookies can't be used to discover your identity.
